Transitions of a Carcass – Shadows

I. Shadows:

I’d continue
to perspire under
the burning sun.
My shadow would change
its degree
around the axis
of my skeleton.

With every passing
minute that
wouldn’t be spent
underneath your shade
anymore. As the dusk

would chase the dawn
and days would gallop
towards the nights.
I’d become

a keen observer of all
these ever changing
hues of the sky;
Alas! Little would
I learn to move on.

This is the first part of the series Transitions of a carcass. The three part series reflects how nature always shelters us in different phases of pain and plight. I’ve clicked this picture on an old analog camera almost 6 to 7 years ago.

Read the Second Part: Seasons and the Third Part: Silage.
